Welcome to Mobile Bird Control: Prevention and Removal of Unwanted Birds

Our company specializes in resolving problems caused by birds in Mobile, Alabama, both residential and commerical. We handle bird species such as pigeons, starlings, grackles, sparros, and even Canada Geese and woodpeckers. We generally don't kill birds - we prevent them from causing problems. Most commonly, this means that we install barriers that prevent them access to your building or property, or anti-roosting devices that prevent them from landing, nesting, or roosting on your home, store, building, or anywhere. We use netting, needle strips, shock track, and more. We do offer trapping in some cases, and removal of birds from warehouses, grocery stores, or other commerical or industrial buildings by netting or sometimes pellet shooting. We have a wide variety of tools and methods for solving every manner of bird problem. Call us at 251-263-9540 to discuss your bird problem today.

Birds can make a mess with their droppings - on your building, roof, or the ground, or any other area. Sometimes bird guano and nesting material accumulate. We professionally clean and decontaminate the area.

Can We Kill the Pigeon Using Rice or Alka-Seltzer?

Pigeons would normally mate within 4 to 5 weeks and would lay multiple eggs. Therefore, pigeon population can become uncontrollable if proper precaution isn't taken. Pigeons would mostly live near human population as the food source is quite accessible to them. Therefore, an increased pigeon population brings all sorts of red alarms into the neighborhood. Apart from that, pigeons and especially their feces carry over 60 diseases. Therefore, if you are heavily infested with these birds, it's important that you get rid of this epidemic.

Using Rice to Kill Pigeons

Many people use rice to kill pigeons. However, is this method really effective? They say pigeons can be killed by using rice. However, the rice has to be dry. The idea behind this is that rice expands once exposed to moisture. Therefore, if the pigeon eats a lot of rice, the rice would expand, and the pigeon might literally burst. Sounds funny, right? The stomach has the capacity to expand quite large. Therefore the pigeons will be able to handle as much food as they can. The pigeon might feel nauseous or even throw up, but expecting that the pigeon would blow up is really unrealistic.

Using Alka-Seltzer to Kill Pigeons

Some people advocate that Alka-Seltzer can be used to kill pigeons. They believe that it would cause immense gas within the stomach of the pigeon and it would seize to live or might explode. Now, this is yet another ridiculous idea as digestive system of animals doesn't work this way. They have various mechanisms to discharge the extra gas and bring the body back to equilibrium. The pigeons might burp out the excess gas so you can't kill them this way either.

How to Kill Pigeons for Real?

So if you can't use these methods to kill pigeons what other methods can you use? Firstly, it's not recommended that you kill the pigeon population as they reproduce quite frequently. Therefore, a better way would be to deploy strategies that would repeal the pigeons and make your environment hostile to them. But if you really want to kill pigeons, you could use a high-powered rifle and shoot them. You can buy an air rifle as it's allowed in residential areas and won't require you to wait a longer period for a permit. Although pigeons can be killed this way, however, it's a lazy way to get rid of them.

Also, you can't poison pigeons as it's illegal to do so in many states. Also, it may cause other severe problems in the area. You will get penalized for breaking the law and would have to pay hefty fines for it as well.
